Cynthia’s SonInspectah Deck

IMG_1374.PNG

This new mixtape from Inspectah Deck (@inspectahdeckwu) can ride the wave of excitement surrounding the upcoming release of A Better Tomorrow.

Packed with 19 new tracks – with the bulk of production from Deck himself – there’s little to no Wu participation and this is a good thing.

His production and rhymes are in grand form and allow him to stand as a solo artist.

Guest features are sparse with most of them coming in production credits.

Moss, Phantom Of The Beats and Bronze Nazareth are the most recognizable.

This nod to 70s soul and 90s boom bap could easily be an official release with some knob twiddling from The RZA (and some expensive sample clearance).

Go see ’bout Cynthia’s progeny here.(via DatPiff)

Jewels 2 leaked, released, to be remixed

IMG_0023.JPG

The excitement surrounding the release of another opportunity to hear El-P (@therealelp) and Killer Mike (@killermikegto) on a record was finally realized when they leaked Run the Jewels 2 before it officially dropped on iTunes.

The first RTJ album came out in 2013 after the two worked together on Killer Mike’s R.A.P. Music and El-P’s Cancer 4 Cure.

Interestingly enough, their sophomore effort will be followed by a remix album on Fool’s Gold and the inside-joke-turned-real, Meow the Jewels, featuring guest production from Prince Paul, The Alchemist and Just Blaze.
