Skratcher Pegcity
The Almighty Skratcher Group is a Canadian DJ collective that meet monthly to practice and hone the art of scratching and turntablism.
Founded in 2012 by Vancouver DJs/turntablists Paul Skratch (Munkee Massv, No Luck Club, D.I.S.C.) and Mike Msa (Vancity Skratch Sessions), it has since expanded to add two more markets, Toronto and Winnipeg.
The SkratcherT0 chapter was initiated by DJ Dopey (MTV, Notes To Self, Turntable Monkz) and J-Tec (Turntable Monkz) last year, while the Winnipeg chapter was jumpstarted by Ill Jay 2 (USDJs) last month.
Skratcher Pegcity returns to the Graffiti Gallery on Sunday, March 15.

Breaking news – sorta
What’s good!
It certainly has been a hot minute since the last update. The fellas have naturally been grindin’, working on music and rinsing that fuelgoodmusic on the regular. If you follow us on Twitter or Facebook – individually or collectively – then you’re in the loop & have been keeping up with the movements.
A major focus for the team has been our weekend residency at Bar Italia. As you know, we are spinning there from Thursday to Saturday. Each night has a specific focus but the format remains the Ultimately, fuelgoodweekends is a signature residency where we showcase what we have come to be known for – that fuelgood sh!t, son.
Thursdays: Maverik One
Fridays: Quadratik
Saturdays: Bruce Lord
It is not uncommon to see variations on each night with all three regularly playing alongside each other with appearances by Premium Plus, Jay Boogie and DJ Rahdil, as well. Speaking of Rahdil, you can catch him on the Streetz 107.9 weekly boat cruise on Thursday nights, as well as at Republic on Saturday nights.
If you were wondering what’s been happening with fuelgoodradio, which aired Fridays from 12 midnight – 2 a.m., there will be a slot change within the next three weeks. The biggest challenge was the fact that everyone is always booked to play on Friday nights, which is why we were prerecording the show. With the new slot, we will all be in the studio live!
One last thing…Break4Bread/DGC 10th year anniversary is approaching! It’s going down August 18 at Sisler High School and will feature special guest judge B-Boy Ronnie (Red Bull BC One All-Stars, Supercrew), the 2-on-2 All-Styles battle as well as Maverik One providing the beats and breaks! For more info, search for the event page on Facebook.
OK, that’s a wrap for now. Keep us bookmarked, follow us on Twitter (@bunDOWN) or Facebook (bundownSOUNDSYSTEM)
Easy.

Summer brings nightlife options
Bundown offers varied menu for the season.
For the summer of 2011, the boys have got a number of weekly offerings as well as big events to ensure that your summer is filled to the brim with fuelGOODmusic!
First off, there are four weekly residencies you definitely want to reach:
Charles’ Gallery marks the return of the hip hop night we did at The Lo Pub and continues in the same vein as we celebrate hip hop culture, its various elements and special guest DJs and MCs dropping the finest rap joints this side of NYC. CG takes place every Tuesday at Bar Italia, 737 Corydon.
G.O.O.D. Thursdays was inspired by a certain MC/producer’s weekly download offerings and is a multi-genre night which allows us to take you all over the urban music spectrum: classic and contemporary house, soul, funk, disco and rap to jumpstart your weekends off right at Bar Italia.
Stylistic Fridays is all about unwinding from a week’s work inside one of the Exchange’s newest nightspot offerings, Boa Lounge, 177 Lombard, with music selections that take you anywhere from the latest fist-pumping house remixes to timeless dancefloor joints in a swanky space.
Calculated Soul has found a new home inside The Loft Gastropub, 774 Corydon, the latest entry into the Corydon strip’s nightlife, and continues to deliver that soul and funk vibe – with generous servings of disco and house – for a mature clientele. If you were a regular at Lobby On York then this definitely is the night for you every Saturday.
We’re also going to be a part of two big fetes on Saturday, June 25:
Summer Whiteout Patio Party is going down at Moxie’s Classic Grill at the MTS Centre, 300 Portage. To get the mood started for the upcoming NHL and summer seasons, we’re paying homage to the Winnipeg-bred “whiteout” and going outdoors! There will be prizes for the top 2 sexiest “Whiteoutfits” courtesy of Luxe + Charm and Unfold Apparel! The patio will be open from 4:00pm-way past dark.
BOOYA! marks our first ever collaboration with Refresh Concepts: an all-90s theme party consisting of all your favourite rap, R&B and dancehall joints from labels like Uptown, Bad Boy, LaFace, Rowdy, Greensleeves, VP and more! BOOYA! will make over Mystique Nightclub, 441 Main St, into Cloud 9 for one night only!
Set the alerts on your iPhones and Blackberrys, folks!
See ya on the dancefloor,
BSS
