Funky DL (@funkydlhiphop), the UK producer that blessed us with the February tributes to Dilla and Nujabes and of course, the first Jazzmatic Nas remix record, is back with more of his butta-fly boom bap.
The concept follows on the heels of Guru‘s Jazzmatazz project, which served as its chief inspiration.
Flying in the face of the current trap beats du jour, DL takes you back to the smoky jazz speakeasies of yore with a sonic foundation that is firmly rooted in the Dilla school of production.
A strong record for those who prefer the dustier, more soulful side of the rap canon.
Cop this record and bump it in your whip. Loud.
