The Village Voice spoke with DJ JS-1 (@djjs1) recently to discuss his latest, It Isn’t What It Isn’t .

His new record features a track with Brother J and Professor X (X-Clan) (posthumously) along with appearances from OC and AG of DITC, Illa Ghee, Homeboy Sandman, Eternia, Ras Kass, Esoteric, Murs, Fashawn, Erick Sermon, Buckshot and Rustee Jux of BCC, Rahzel, KRS-One, Torae (SiriusXM) Artifacts, C-Rayz Walz, Ill Bill and Slaine of La Coka Nostra, Kurious, Craig G, Smooth B and (exhale!) Sadat X.

The Queens, NY representative isn’t just a producer/DJ.

When he’s not ripping up (Serato and vinyl) wax, he’s throwing up burners armed with Krylon cans across town and repping Rock Steady Crew.

It Isn’t What It Isn’t Is available now on iTunes. (via The Village Voice)
