MJ returns

King of Pop set to perform again.

MICHAEL JACKSON announced today that he will hit the stage again for the first time since 1996-97’s HIStory tour.

Jackson made the announcement in London, where his This Is It show will debut in July. The show will consist of 10 concerts at the 02 Arena – the same venue that PRINCE held his 21 Nights in London residency back in 2007.

It’s all about the gesture he makes – at 8:12 – just as he exits. Was it me or was he actually normal ie. no pipsqueak voice, no “too-humbled” demeanor. This the “normal Michael” that ex-wife LISA MARIE PRESLEY mentioned on Oprah years ago?

“Was that weird for you, too,” exclaimed the announcer after Jackson left.

Babu coming to Winnipeg

Legendary DJ to make first local appearance.

The DJ/producer will embark on an eight-city jaunt dubbed The Lick Shots Tour with Toronto’s NOTES TO SELF that will touch down in Winnipeg on Saturday, March 21 at Hi Fi Club.

Babu released the latest installment of his Duck Season series, Volume 3, in October of 2008 on Nature Sounds. He is best known as a turntablist/partyrocking legend who helped usher in the DMC/ITF/Vestax era with the most popular DJ battle record in the world, Super Duck Breaks, and as a member of groundbreaking music entities, DILATED PEOPLES and THE WORLD FAMOUS BEAT JUNKIES.

Though known primarily for his prowess behind the decks, he has been building a production resume with work featured on albums by Dilated, LIKWIT JUNKIES (his collaboration project with DEFARI) and on his own Duck Season series.

Notes To Self was recognized by Exclaim!? as one of the Artists to Watch in 2009 after having signed to influential underground label BBE, known for releases by MADLIB, SLAKAH THE BEATCHILD (ART OF FRESH), ROBERT STRAUSS, OSUNLADE, KON & AMIR, J-LIVE, DAVID RODIGAN, DJ VADIM, VIKTER DUPLAIX, NICOLAY, J-DILLA and DJ JAZZY JEFF.
